By now most of you have probably heard that the Greenwood fire was in fact a case of arson. Troubling news indeed. Greenwood neighbors and businesses continue to rally together in response. Last night a crowd packed out Romio's Pizza for a discussion about plans for the future, particularly for the Green Bean.
Sanctuary Church has established a "Greenwood Fire Relief Fund" at the Chase Bank in Greenwood for donations to support the Greenwood businesses that were damaged and destroyed in Friday's fire, some of whom had no insurance. A team of Greenwood community representatives will be overseeing the equitable distribution of funds.
Greenwood's Wing Dome announced that a portion of their sales this Sunday will go towards the Fire Relief Fund:
We know the Greenwood community has been devastated by the latest fire to hit their neighborhood and so we are donating money raised this Sunday, November 1, at Wing Dome’s Greenwood location from 11 am to -9:00 pm. The Wing Dome will donate $2 per each Mac & Jack beer sold and $4 per each Firehouse burger. Donations will go to: "Greenwood Fire Relief Fund" at the Chase Bank in Greenwood. This money will be distributed among the businesses affected by the fire.
