After three weeks of major remodeling, Aurora's Uber Tavern is hoping to reopen for business this Friday, February 10 at noon. According to the folks at Uber, the "bar will still be the size of a shoe box. A nicer looking shoe box." The remodel comes after six years of wear and tear from all the people who have enjoyed a tasty beer at this neighborhood joint over the years.
Meanwhile, just across Aurora and down the street, St. Andrews Bar and Grill is preparing for some remodel work of their own - but not of their current space! According to one of the owners, St. Andrew's will be expanding into the space next door, the former home of the Dry Cleaning Station. The bar plans to knock out a wall to connect the neighboring space to their current space, and is eager to offer the new room as a perfect spot for loyal sports fans who want to focus on their own team (football, soccer, etc.) in the event that the many other screens at St. Andrew's are already dedicated to games in higher demand. In other words, the bar is trying to avoid having patrons fight over the remote control! The new space will also be used for scotch tastings. At this point, the owners are hoping to complete the work in April.
